Now, Luke Sherman was the Brooke Hotel whistleblower.Both James Harvey and Luke Sherman have been arrested at the Epping protest.

Why This Matters to Future Protesters

It’s important for anybody who plans to protest in the future to understand what’s happened to these two young men.They were there to peacefully protest against migrants being in the hotel.

What Happened at the Protest?

James Harvey and Luke were both arrested for chanting, basically, whilst taking part in that peaceful protest.The protest happened on Saturday, July 26th.They were arrested on:Suspicion of affraySection 31 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998They were charged with Section 31 and bailed until October 6th.On that date, they’ll find out if they’re going to be charged with affray.

Possible Prison Sentence

If they are found guilty of Section 31, they could face 2 years in prison.If found guilty of affray, the sentence could go up to 5 years in prison.

What Were They Chanting?

Now I can hear you shouting — “What did they chant?”Unlike some of the vile rhetoric that comes out of the mouths of Antifa and the Socialist Workers Union,these two lads chanted:“Deport”“Stop the boats”“Send them home”Would you say any of these chants are racist or could be deemed as a hate crime?They were chanting with many other people.It wouldn’t have just been the two of them.And I would put money on it that nobody could accuse them of being Islamophobic.

Is Free Speech Dead?

But hey, with everything going on — and with what Donald Trump said to Keir Starmer about free speech,I’d say that freedom of expression is officially dead in this country.And freedom of speech seems to be going the very same way.
